Vietnam's bizarre island Phu Quoc

Mulvey Vietnam.jpg
This is a holiday resort and you can see foreigners everywhere. The island doesn't require visitors to obtain a visa for up to 30 days. Having a British passport means I can visit Vietnam for 15 days without a visa anyway, but an extra 30 here in Phu Quoc is decent.

There's not a lot to do, but people are friendly, food is good, it's hot, things are cheap, especially food and the beaches are clean and stuff.

There's a beach called Starfish beach. There are actually starfish there and there were barely any tourists or anything because it's literally in the middle of nowhere. I used Grab to book a taxi to the beach, and it took about an hour because the road was so bad for most of the journey. He actually just say he'd wait for us because it'd be so difficult to get a taxi back and he didn't charge any more than the Grab charge on the way, very honest guy.

I wouldn't return to this island, but I will be visiting other parts of Vietnam later on.
